Bon Accord Kitchens recently partnered with a long-standing customer to transform a well-used kitchen in Aberdeen that had served its purpose for over 18 years. Motivated by a desire to modernise and open up the space, the family turned to a name they trusted — having had a positive experience with Bon Accord Glass nearly 25 years prior. With a focus on both design and functionality, our team worked closely with the client to ensure every detail reflected their vision for a refreshed, practical, and welcoming kitchen space.
The choices they made
The client opted for a timeless shaker-style kitchen, pairing Bardolino oak carcasses with magnolia-painted doors for a soft, homely feel that still allows plenty of light into the room. The premium Dekton Arga worktop, lacquered to a smooth, high-gloss finish, provided a luxurious focal point with its rich tones and robust durability. Siemens appliances were chosen for their performance and sleek integration, and the addition of a Quooker tap added the convenience of instant boiling and sparkling water — a perfect blend of modern technology and everyday practicality.
Why they updated it
To enhance space and flow, the family decided to remove a partition wall, creating a larger, open-plan kitchen and dining area that encourages connection and natural light. The redesign not only provided improved storage solutions but also delivered a brighter and more spacious feel — turning the kitchen into a central hub for family life. With Christmas as a deadline, the Bon Accord team ensured the kitchen was fully operational in time, demonstrating our commitment to delivering on promises.
